Nicholas grew up in Campbell River and is proud to return home to practice law supporting the community that shaped him. His roots on the Island, combined with years of experience in public service and community initiatives across the country, have shaped his approach to law: practical, compassionate, and deeply committed to helping people navigate challenges with clarity and confidence. Having worked on behalf of both individuals and institutions, Nicholas brings a balanced perspective that helps his clients achieve fair and lasting solutions.
Before joining CR Lawyers, Nicholas gained broad experience with the Nova Scotia Department of Justice in solicitor services, civil litigation, child protection, and the Public Prosecution Service, as well as with Nova Scotia Legal Aid’s Youth Criminal Defence Team and the Office of the Legislative Counsel. This diverse background allows him to draw on insights from both sides of an issue — whether between employees and employers, governments and individuals, or organizations and communities.
Nicholas maintains a diverse practice, resolving disputes through negotiation and collaboration whenever possible, while also being a strong advocate in court when necessary. Outside the office, he enjoys time in the woods and on the water, grateful to once again call Campbell River home.
